Amitabh Bachchan Jokes About Being Marriage Counselor on KBC

Responding to the remark, EAM Jaishankar said that 'big bullies' don't provide $4.5 billion in aid when neighbours are in distress and praised by Amitabh Bachchan

During the latest episode of the popular Indian television game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC), hosted by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, a contestant’s marital problems became a topic of conversation. Contestant Rachana Rustagi from New Delhi, who made it to the hot seat, shared her concerns about her husband’s behavior, prompting Bachchan to make a lighthearted remark about becoming a marriage counselor.

Rustagi, a homemaker, won her way to the ₹160,000 question but decided to quit the game after using all her lifelines. However, it was her candid discussion with Bachchan about her husband that caught the audience’s attention.

Rustagi began by sharing her husband’s tendency to be thrifty, mentioning that he was on an all-expense-paid trip to the show but hadn’t taken her out. Bachchan humorously commented, “The channel needs to change the designation from anchor to marriage counselor. Everyone shares their marital problems on the show.”

In response to Rustagi’s complaint, Bachchan offered some playful advice to her husband, suggesting that he should start spending money on her. The contestant’s husband, Ravi, mentioned that they had been on a Europe trip, but Rachana clarified that the trip was sponsored by a bank, and her husband rarely spends on her.

Bachchan then playfully advised Ravi to prepare a romantic card expressing his love and desire to take her on a trip to Europe, allowing her to spend as she pleases. The lighthearted exchange between the host and the contestant highlighted the humorous and engaging moments that KBC is known for.

During the show, Rachana Rustagi faced several questions, starting with a ₹1,000 question. Some of the questions she encountered included completing a phrase, identifying differences between rose and tulsi plants, recognizing a language spoken in a movie clip, and identifying the name of a ruler from the Khalji dynasty. The exchange with Bachchan about her marital concerns added an unexpected twist to the episode.

“Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) has been a long-running and popular television game show in India, and Amitabh Bachchan’s charismatic hosting has been a significant factor in its success. The show often features contestants from various walks of life, and their interactions with Bachchan make for entertaining and memorable moments, as demonstrated by this particular episode where Bachchan playfully transformed into a marriage counselor.
