The New York-born rapper, dressed in a vibrant orange floor-length dress, was singing near the front of the stage when a tall plastic cup filled with liquid was hurled in her direction. Although visibly shocked for a moment, Cardi B quickly responded by hurling her microphone back at the person while voicing her frustration. Members of her security team immediately intervened and jumped into the audience.

This incident adds to a growing trend of performers being targeted during concerts. Recently, pop star Bebe Rexha was hit in the head by a cell phone thrown by a concertgoer in New York. In another incident in London, someone threw a bag containing the ashes of their own mother at superstar Pink, as reported by various media outlets.

Cardi B’s reaction garnered praise from several users on social media platforms, with many supporting artists taking a firm stance against such attacks during performances.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that a show attendee had come forward to “report a battery.” The victim explained that she was attending an event on July 29, 2023, at a property on Las Vegas Boulevard when she was struck by an item thrown from the stage. Although the police statement did not mention Cardi B by name, the date and location align with her concert.

Cardi B, known for her chart-topping hits such as “I Like It,” “Up,” “Bodak Yellow,” and the duet “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, is a prominent figure in the music industry. The incident has sparked discussions about how performers should respond to such provocations during their shows.
