AAP MP Sanjay Singh Declares Defiance Before Arrest

In a strong remark, Delhi Rouse court asked AAP leader Sanjay Singh to not give any political speech during proceedings

Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Singh from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sent a strong and defiant message to his fellow party members just before his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In a video message, Singh emphasized that they are the “soldiers of the party” and urged them to persist in their battle against the “corrupt” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the center.

Singh’s message conveyed unwavering resolve as he stated, “Marna manzoor hai, darna nahin” (We are ready to die, but not to be scared). The MP’s arrest was linked to the Delhi liquor policy case.

In the video, recorded prior to his arrest, Sanjay Singh highlighted his relentless efforts in fighting and speaking out against the alleged corruption of the Narendra Modi government. He recounted the events leading to his arrest, stating that the ED had conducted searches at his residence throughout the day but had not found any incriminating evidence.

Despite the lack of evidence, Singh expressed his readiness to face arrest and remained committed to the cause of the Aam Aadmi Party. He claimed that the BJP government was fearful of losing the upcoming elections and characterized his arrest as an act of desperation and frustration.

Singh asserted, “This is a sign of your frustration and defeat. This is an example of a scared Prime Minister inflicting cruelty and dictatorship and jailing people to try and win elections.” He accused Prime Minister Modi of resorting to authoritarian tactics to secure electoral victories.

Singh’s message also conveyed his unwavering determination to continue speaking out against what he perceives as the corruption of the Narendra Modi government, regardless of the personal hardships he may endure. He emphasized that he and his colleagues are ready to face any challenges that come their way in the pursuit of justice.

Furthermore, Sanjay Singh anticipated the dissemination of fake news and false information about him following his arrest. Such concerns are not uncommon in the current media landscape, where misinformation and disinformation can spread rapidly.

The Enforcement Directorate’s raid on Sanjay Singh’s residence culminated in his arrest. He was taken into custody in connection with a money laundering case linked to the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy.

While the BJP justified Singh’s arrest and hinted at potential action against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP maintained that the 15-month-long investigation into the case had not yielded any substantial evidence. Earlier, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had also been arrested in connection with the same case in February.

Sanjay Singh’s arrest and his resolute message underscore the ongoing political tensions and confrontations between the AAP and the BJP, further highlighting the complexities of Indian politics.
