Akhilesh Yadav Blames BJP Government for Deoria Killings

Samajwadi Party and Congress finalize seat-sharing agreement in Uttar Pradesh for upcoming Lok Sabha elections

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has expressed outrage over the recent killing of six individuals in Deoria, blaming the “unjust working of the system” and holding the BJP-led state government responsible. During a press conference following a two-day training camp for party workers, Mr. Yadav criticized both state and central governments.

Mr. Yadav stated, “BJP government and its officials are responsible for the murder of six people in Deoria.” He went on to assert that the incident exposed the flawed workings of government officials, emphasizing their inability to provide justice to the marginalized and control crime effectively.

Akhilesh Yadav also accused Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of playing politics by visiting the injured in the violent clash between two families from different castes over land, which resulted in the tragic loss of six lives in Deoria.

He argued that had the officials of the Adityanath government promptly resolved the dispute between the families, the violence might have been prevented. Akhilesh Yadav called for the suspension of all junior and senior officials responsible for neglecting the dispute, pointing out that the government had not taken any action in this regard.

Furthermore, Mr. Yadav announced that a Samajwadi Party delegation would visit Deoria to seek justice for both families affected by the incident. He also raised concerns about the growing menace of stray cattle and damaged roads in the state, claiming that despite substantial funds being allocated, potholes remained unfilled and bulls roamed freely on the roads.

Switching his focus to the political landscape, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister expressed confidence in the INDIA alliance’s prospects in the upcoming general elections, asserting that the alliance would secure victory in all seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Akhilesh Yadav also criticized the BJP’s stance on the issue of caste census. Additionally, he raised concerns about the alleged filing of fake cases against SP workers in various districts, including Pratapgarh.

On the subject of women’s representation in politics, Mr. Yadav challenged the BJP to back its support for women’s reservation by allocating 33 percent of seats to women in upcoming elections. This statement highlighted the ongoing debate on gender equality and representation in Indian politics.

Akhilesh Yadav’s statements reflect his strong criticism of the BJP-led state government’s handling of the Deoria killings and the central government’s actions. His remarks also touch upon various political issues, including the upcoming elections, caste census, and women’s reservation, showcasing his active role in Uttar Pradesh politics.
