Double Murder Shocks Badaun: Salon Owner

Nanakmatta Sahib Gurdwara's Baba Tarsem Singh was shot dead on Thursday on the shrine's premises by two men on a motorcycle

The tranquil town of Badaun, nestled in the heart of Uttar Pradesh, was rocked by a horrific tragedy when a local salon owner committed a heinous act, resulting in the deaths of two innocent children. The incident sent shockwaves through the community, leading to tension and unrest in the region.

The perpetrator, identified as Mohd Sajid, a 22-year-old salon owner, perpetrated the gruesome crime on a fateful Tuesday evening. Sajid brazenly invaded the home of his neighbor, contractor Vinod Thakur, around 8 pm, wielding a sharp weapon. In a chilling display of violence, he ruthlessly slit the throats of Vinod Thakur’s two sons, Ayush, aged 13, and Ahaan, aged 6. Tragically, their lives were cut short in a senseless act of brutality.

As if the devastation wrought upon the Thakur family wasn’t enough, Sajid also targeted Vinod’s third son, Piyush, inflicting minor injuries upon him. Piyush was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, fortunate to have escaped the same fate as his brothers.

The news of the gruesome murders spread like wildfire, sparking outrage and anguish among the locals. Infuriated by the senseless violence, members of the community took to the streets, setting shops ablaze and demanding swift justice for the victims. The palpable tension escalated further as calls for the immediate arrest of the accused reverberated through the streets of Badaun.

In a dramatic turn of events, law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the escalating crisis. A police team confronted Sajid, who attempted to evade capture. In a desperate bid to escape justice, Sajid opened fire at the police, triggering a tense standoff. Faced with imminent danger, the police were compelled to retaliate, resulting in Sajid’s demise at the scene. The encounter brought a grim end to the perpetrator’s reign of terror, albeit at a heavy cost.

Bareilly Inspector-General of Police Rakesh Kumar, speaking to ANI news agency, shed light on the tragic sequence of events. He confirmed the heartbreaking loss of two innocent lives and detailed the police’s swift response to apprehend the assailant. The encounter with Sajid, while regrettable, underscored the authorities’ commitment to upholding law and order in the face of adversity.

In the aftermath of the harrowing incident, questions abound regarding the motive behind Sajid’s unfathomable act of violence. Speculations swirl, with some media reports suggesting that a dispute, possibly related to monetary matters, precipitated the tragic turn of events. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the brutal murder of the two children remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the community grappling for answers amidst profound grief and disbelief.

In response to the heightened tensions gripping the region, authorities have taken proactive measures to restore calm and maintain order. Security has been bolstered in the Baba colony, where the tragic incident unfolded, with a heightened police presence to quell any further unrest. Badaun District Magistrate Manoj Kumar issued a plea for peace, urging residents to exercise restraint and refrain from succumbing to the cycle of violence and retribution.

As the tight-knit community of Badaun grapples with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy, the scars left behind serve as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the profound impact of violence on innocent lives. In the quest for justice, the memory of Ayush and Ahaan lives on, their untimely deaths serving as a solemn call to action to prevent such senseless acts of brutality from ever occurring again.
