PM Modi to Lay Foundation Stone for Railway Stations

Prime Minister Modi said that he wants to contribute more to IEA and that India's carbon emissions account for only four per cent of the global total despite it being home to 17 per cent of the global population

On August 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to virtually lay the foundation stone for the renovation of Darshan Nagar and Bharat Kund Railway Stations in Faizabad. This development is part of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, with the Ministry of Railways allocating ₹20 crore and ₹16 crore for the development of Darshan Nagar and Bharat Kund Railway Stations, respectively.

The renovation project encompasses about two dozen railway stations across the country under the AMRUT Scheme, aimed at enhancing their infrastructure and passenger amenities. This initiative is set to significantly improve the quality of railway facilities and services, ultimately benefiting millions of passengers.

Additionally, on the same day, Prime Minister Modi will also virtually lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of Mangaluru Junction railway station to international standards. The project, costing ₹19.32 crore, is part of the Amrit Bharat station scheme, an ambitious plan to transform key railway stations across the country into world-class facilities.

During the 2023-24 budget speech, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the decision to upgrade Mangaluru Junction, as well as Mangaluru Central, Bantwal, and Subramanya railway stations in Dakshina Kannada district. These upgrades are expected to enhance the overall railway infrastructure in the region and improve the travel experience for passengers.

The Amrit Bharat station scheme is a crucial initiative aimed at modernizing railway infrastructure, bringing it on par with international standards, and enhancing passenger convenience and comfort. The transformation of railway stations into world-class facilities will not only elevate the image of Indian railways but also improve the overall travel experience for passengers.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, the Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament and BJP state president, expressed his appreciation for the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in facilitating the upgradation of Mangaluru Junction station and other railway stations in the district. These projects will not only strengthen the rail network but also enhance connectivity and economic development in the respective regions.

Overall, the foundation stone laying for the renovation of Darshan Nagar and Bharat Kund Railway Stations in Faizabad and the upgradation of Mangaluru Junction station mark significant steps towards the modernization and development of India’s railway infrastructure, bringing greater convenience and comfort to passengers and boosting economic growth in the regions.
