PM Narendra Modi Emerges as World’s Most Popular Leader

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most popular leader in the world, surpassing global counterparts like US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, according to a recent survey conducted by the US-based agency Morning Consult.

 

The Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker by Morning Consult revealed that Prime Minister Modi received an impressive approval rating of nearly 78%, the highest among all leaders included in the survey. This remarkable rating reflects the overwhelming support and confidence that the Indian population has in their leader. Only 17% of the respondents expressed disapproval of PM Modi’s leadership, while 6% did not offer an opinion.

 

In contrast, US President Joe Biden garnered an approval rating of 37%, significantly lower than PM Modi’s, with 55% of respondents expressing disapproval of his leadership. Additionally, 8% of respondents refrained from offering an opinion on President Biden’s leadership.

 

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s approval rating was even lower, with only 25% of respondents in the UK expressing approval of his leadership. A staggering 66% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with Sunak’s leadership, indicating a decline in his popularity among the British population.

 

The approval ratings provided by the Morning Consult survey are regularly updated based on monthly data collected from respondents in various countries. The latest ratings were based on data collected from January 30 to February 5, providing insights into the shifting perceptions of global leaders among adults surveyed.

 

PM Modi’s consistent presence at the top of the list of most popular global leaders is a testament to his strong leadership and widespread popularity both within India and on the international stage. His approval rating of 78% reflects the trust and confidence that the Indian populace has in his ability to lead the nation effectively.

 

Following PM Modi on the list of most popular global leaders is Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who received an approval rating of 65%. Argentina’s Javier Milei secured the third position with an approval rating of 63%. PM Modi’s continued popularity on the global stage comes at a crucial time as India prepares for upcoming elections, with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aiming for a third consecutive term in power.

 

PM Modi’s party, the BJP, is gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for 2024, with aspirations of securing a decisive victory. In his recent speeches, PM Modi has expressed confidence in his party’s ability to secure a thumping majority in the elections. The BJP aims to win approximately 370 seats, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) surpassing the 400 mark.
